A Case Study – bespoke kitchen design
Our client’s brief was to have a kitchen to entertain in, and also one that day to day the family could sit around whilst snacking and watch television. The kitchen had to be practical and easy to keep clean as there were teenagers and numerous pets! Our initial design is a hand drawn plan. We then produce a series of 3D visuals for our client, so that they can see the kitchen design from all angles.
One of the main features of the kitchen was an internal pantry, suggested as a main work station to house practical items such as a toaster and coffee maker so the doors could be shut and any mess hidden! This became a brilliant opportunity to personalise the kitchen as during the first visit to the client’s house it was obvious that she loved extravagant trimming, pink and sparkle. The pantry was designed with a bright pink glass splashback and worksurface and lots of internal lighting but then with practical, deep internal drawers below.
Metris Gloss Black and Dark Zebrano gloss doors were used to achieve a striking look, with plain Bone Corian used as a backdrop for these. The client had mentioned her husband would like gadgets so a Quooker hot water tap, pop up socket and wine cooler were included in the design. Siemens appliances and a feature Falmec ‘Prestige’ hood suited the Black Gloss perfectly.
